How regularly should I clean my 24-hour chair?
Unsurprisingly, 24-hour chairs are designed for long-term use. In control centres or airport terminals in particular, the chairs are used alternately by several people in shifts. Regular cleaning of the upholstery, armrests and moving parts is therefore very important. Especially if you and your colleagues frequently eat a snack at work or sit on the seat cushions with dusty work clothes. Incidentally, coarser soiling should be removed immediately to prevent permanent stains. Regular dusting or vacuuming is also a good idea. Allergy sufferers in particular will thank you! Vacuuming also prevents the dirt particles from acting like an abrasive when rubbed with a cloth and thus attacking the cover. This makes sense even with very abrasion-resistant fabrics such as Climatex.
How can I optimally clean my office chair?
The answer to this question also depends on what materials your chair is made of. Upholstered chairs should not be treated with products for leather upholstery and using a standard all-purpose cleaner can leave unsightly stains or even damage the upholstery. In general, most stains can be removed with a slightly damp cloth. But be careful: applying too much pressure is counterproductive! Viruses and bacteria, on the other hand, can only be combated with special disinfectants. However, these should be used sparingly and not sprayed directly onto fabrics or upholstery. Greasy and oily stains (gravy from the canteen or mayonnaise from your favourite Greek restaurant) are water-repellent and must therefore also be removed with special cleaning agents. How do I clean leather upholstery?
Leather is robust and durable. However, open-pored leather such as aniline leather or suede are somewhat more sensitive. Dirt should therefore be consistently removed. Regular wiping with a slightly damp cloth also prevents the leather from drying out over the years. This also preserves the look. Shoe polish or similar products are not suitable for cleaning or caring for your leather covers!
24-hour chairs: How to prevent repairs
